If you’ve been looking for a stable government job in Pakistan, here’s some good news. The Survey of Pakistan (SoP) has just released a fresh vacancies advertisement for 2026, and applications are open from today until June 8, 2026.

The department is hiring for a total of eight different posts, ranging from BS-15 down to BS-4. That means opportunities for graduates, intermediate pass, matriculation, middle, and even primary pass candidates. Yes, you read that right – there are also vacancies for drivers, welders, carpenters, and a telephone operator.

Let me break it down for you in plain, simple words so you don’t miss anything important.

What Posts Are Available?

Here’s the quick rundown:

  • Assistant (BS-15) – For graduates. There are 13 seats, with quotas for women (01) and minorities (01). Punjab gets the most slots (07), followed by Sindh (Urban 01, Rural 01), KPK (01), and Ex-FATA (01). Two seats are on merit.
  • UDC (BS-13) – Intermediate required. Total 15 vacancies. Women and minority quotas apply again.
  • LDC (BS-11) – Matriculation with a typing speed of at least 30 words per minute. Also 15 vacancies.
  • Telephone Operator (BS-09) – Intermediate plus 2 years of experience as a telephone operator. Only 1 seat, and it’s reserved for Punjab.
  • Computer Hardware Technician (BS-07) – You need second class or grade ‘C’ in F.Sc. plus a 6-month certificate in computer hardware from a government institute. Total 8 posts.
  • Mechanics (Welder) (BS-05) – Middle pass with one year of relevant experience. 4 seats.
  • Mechanics (Carpenter) (BS-04) – Same qualification: middle pass + one year experience. 4 seats.
  • Driver (BS-04) – Primary pass, valid driving license, and knowledge of traffic rules. There are 13 vacancies, and 8 of them are reserved for ex-army personnel.

Age limit for all posts is 18 to 30 years (including the usual 5-year relaxation already added). So if you’re a bit older but fall within the relaxed age bracket, you’re still eligible.

Important Dates & How to Apply

This part is crucial. The last date to apply is June 8, 2026. Applications received after that will not be accepted – no excuses.

Unlike the old days of mailing physical copies, Survey of Pakistan is going fully online. You need to visit their official website:

Once there, look for the “Job Openings” tab under “Quick Links”. You can also scan the QR code given in the original ad. Fill out the online application form carefully. Make sure you select your preferred test center from the five cities: Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta, or Karachi.

For the posts of Mechanics (Welder/Carpenter) and Driver, you’ll need to submit your application on a special proforma available on the same website. So don’t just fill the generic form – check the instructions for your specific post.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for tests and interviews. So don’t expect everyone to get a call.
  • No TA/DA will be given for appearing in tests or interviews – standard government rule.
  • If you’re already working in a government department, semi-government, or autonomous body (including Survey of Pakistan itself), you must apply through the proper channel and attach a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
  • At the time of interview, bring original documents plus attested photocopies of all educational and experience certificates, CNIC, domicile, two passport-size photos, and if you’re from Ex-Army, your DASB.
  • Non-Muslim candidates need a verified declaration on oath. Disabled candidates must provide a valid disability certificate from the concerned authority.

A Quick Word on the IT Training Requirement

One thing that might confuse some applicants: For Assistant, UDC, and LDC posts, the advertisement mentions a Basic IT Training Course (including MS Office) conducted by NITB during probation. This doesn’t mean you need the certificate before applying. It means that after you get selected, you’ll have to complete this training while on probation. So don’t worry if you don’t have it yet – just make sure you’re willing to learn.

Final Advice

Check your domicile carefully. Each post has a regional quota – Punjab, Sindh (Urban and Rural separate), KPK, Balochistan, and even Ex-FATA. If you apply against a quota that isn’t yours, your application will be rejected.

Also, don’t wait until the last day. The website might get slow or overloaded. Submit your application a few days before June 8, 2026 to be safe.

Good luck to all applicants. Government jobs don’t come around every day – this is a genuine opportunity from the Survey of Pakistan. If you meet the criteria, go for it.
